Have got the vest template done
will post the front pic once uploaded. It has taken a while and gone through three phases. First was a t-shirt design but my mum said try it on paper first. then there was the first paper template which needed refining leading to this one. If I need to change anything please let me know before I cut it out of fabric, I have only one attempt at this and need to get it right first time, or no auckgeddon for me due to money constraints.

(Bogged down with course work, and the vest put me off. I can not sew as you will soon see)

This is what I have done of the Vest so far. The vest is only a temp until I can get a K'raam Xrati duck cloth vest. Until then though I have the one I made from scratch. It still needs some seam work along the neck and the armholes once I have the shoulders. Anyway here is the pic of me in it. It is just pinned for now, will add all the velcro when done.
Also, I am not in my flightsuit and my mum took the pic on my tablet and still has not gotten use to it yet.
Can someone point me in the direction of good shoulders for a vest. It is all I need before adding velcro and sewing up the bottom.
(Still having problems)

Got the acrylic for the visor, just need the tinting, got some pouches as well, but forgot the bog. Aiming to paint the helmet this weekend, and get some Armour attached. yes I know I have been threatening to attach it for some time, just nervous about screwing it up, and it puts me off that's all.
Anyway pics of the helmet so far, also is it better to screw in the screws from inside the bucket so that I can remove them, or should I use something other than screws to do it, any advice welcome.
Went from full helmet,(No pic of it, check Tracyn Ordo's thread thread) to this.
Then on sunday went to this
Also where should I go for tinting.

Yeah, was trying for a Jaster inspired mando. I am going for the same technique as Tracyn Ordo did for his and will be getting the tinting on Tuesday. However there is more, have started to add the plates to the vest (which I have taken in).
Time for a Real dork moment (RDM)
Need to know about the plates allignment. Also that is my patch sewn on.

Friend took some pics at the AP today
Gaunts look warped in the pic, but they are not.
The left chest piece (My left) had a piece of velcro that came away from the plate and caused the lopsidedness. I have fixed this, and with fine weather will be priming the gaunts tomorrow. I will also add the ab plate and diamond piece. Need more velcro and to get some elastic and nylon strapping. but have to wait until Tuesday (Payday). then it is all on in one final push towards the two troops that are upcoming, they are unofficial and I will be using them as tests for how the armour holds up. Also, will I need a girth belt for this, I am thinking of making one, but want to know if it is needed or not.

My camera I had was acting up and not letting me get the pics off it. But I now have them, and now just have to deal with my computer uploading them so I will edit this post when each one is done. I need to trim the padding inside the helmet, as you can see in the side on pic. As stated I need a new flightsuit and vest and will be getting both soon I hope.

Here's what I see... (the things I'm pointing out may have been addressed before...)
- Yeah you need to (either) trim the padding in your bucket or get a balaclava to hide the exposed skin.
- Your plates need a better attachment method, the ab plate is overlapping on the chest plates.
- They might need a trim too. You look like a slender guy, sometimes the templates won't fit you as is. You might need the large templates but they may need a trim on the sides for example.
- Your knees are very wonky, you might wanna check for a better attachment method there too.
- You back plate will need forming, as it seems to "float" over your shoulders.
- Make sure your shoulder are placed properly.
- You already called it but yeah a better fitting flight suit would be necessary.
- You flight suit sleeves shouldn't come out your gauntlets. Put them inside your gloves.
Now for some advice that aren't CRL related...
- You might want to do a nice black/brown wash over the whole thing. It would tie everything together nicely.
- You should greeblie up those gaunts!
- Boot armor with no shins looks a little weird to me, unbalanced.
- Get a nice girth belt, it'll help blending you cod armor with the rest.
It might seems like a lot, but most of the points are easily remedied.
Keep at it my friend.

Addressed almost everything Kelan mentioned.
-Reduced the size of the chest plates and ab plate.
-Evened out the right shoulder so it matches the left.
-Moved the cod and belt down slightly.
-Tucked the end of the sleeves into the gloves.
-Reduced the size of the knees and evened them out.
-I also tailored the vest as it is too baggy for you and lengthened the flightsuit. (Things I know you mentioned you had on your fix list.)
I hope that visually seeing the differences mentioned will not only help in getting the fixes done right but, be a boost of motivation to getting your kill stripes. As Kelan said these fixes are easily remedied, keep at it, your almost there.

Few shots of the backplate. Needs to sit for about three days, then I can get onto the bog work.
Currently where it is sitting.
Trimming will need to be done of course, then a repaint.
Also got a small bit done with the gaunts. Holes are drilled for the wires, and the acrylic is painted blue.
So I need to cut bits out. Like the crudley drawn rectangle on the first piece of plastic. The wires and lights go with that layer. Next comes the acrylic. Finally, cut out a hole in the final piece to see the acryluc, and light, and cut a few more holes for buttons.
Test to see how the acrylic difuses the light. I think it works quite well.

Snag, I hate that word, my backplate fell, snapped clean up the middle but can be fixed. Just use glue using a support piece, the problem is my new course takes up time.
I did re atatch my ear cap that had fallen off. Also scuffed the painted acrylic, going to try and get some work done this week by finishing the gauntlet ready for painting.

Small bit of work done. Got some sewing done, to make sure the armours sits on the vest right. Started sewing velcro so I can add the thighs and shins. Plus I started building up the gauntlet.
Glued outside and soldered wires and LEDs.
Taped other layers on, just to test.
I sail, let there be light, and lo and behold light sprung forth and it pleased the mercs.

Dyed the vest (currently drying). And glued the blue layer for the gaunt.

Vest.
As you can see, it is not black like the packet said. Then again, I like it, changes it up, from black on black.
Gaunt.
As you can see, most of the LED strip is hidden from view in one of the pics, and if it is really bad (according to you guys and girls), then I will add a second layer of blue painted Acrylic (hoppy store does not sell blue teansparent, I have to paint it myself.)
Thoughts are welcome on this.

whats the glow gaunt gonna look like when its done? are you gonna add anything to the blue plastic when its finished?
Going to add buttons, make it a data pad gauntlet thingy ma bob (technical term).
Got some pics taken in kit. Need to work on some things, spacing etc. Also need some longer webbing for the thigh plates (muscle or fat dunno.)

OK gauntlet. This is almost done, depending on weather it could be as soon as next week.
Next is the ab plate. It just needs some velcro to sit right, and be placed correctly.
Also going for a half cape as I had some fabric left over. Got to weathering it and the kama before I realised my paint had dried. Need to buy some more when payday comes around.

Didn't wont to post until I got something, but just figured what the hell, if anything is wrong I think I know it already. (rambling, I know)
App was sent in on Saturday (My Time). Wish me luck.
Problems I have seen, are the flightsuit sticks out under the shins a bit, easy fix, knee slipped down a bit before the app pic, slight adjustment with the velcro and sorted. Gauntlet slipped round before the photo, might need some foam to secure it.
Light was not on for the app pic as I figured it would mess with the pictures.
And I slouched a bit. I am kicking myself cause I thought I had fixed the issue.

Be patient, they all have their own lives as well
I am just impatient.
1. The sleeves are hanging out of the gauntlets. They need to be tucked up inside of the gauntlets out of sight. *See Attached Photoshop.
2. The pant legs of the flight suit are blousing. They either need to be taken in or better tucked. *See Attached Photoshop.
3. The left knee needs to be moved up so it is even with the right. *See Attached Photoshop.
4. The thighs look to be "floating" at the bottoms. They will need to be better secured. *See Attached Photoshop.
5. The cape looks to just be a cut rectangle of fabric draped at the shoulders. This piece has been dinged on the quality clause as we feel it is not up to the quality of the rest of the kit.
6. We need a weapons picture to process your application.
I know what I must do. Friday morning will be busy I think.

Rejected. I need to fix spacing issues, my chin was showing, and so was the boot tongue.
So, going to post lots of pics on Saturday, as I try and get the spacing 110% and will need your help on that.
Bought a balaclava to hide my chin.
Going shoe shipping to find a better boot.
If I am forgetting something I will post the changes I need to make Saturday as a checklist.

Just the front pic of my kit.

I am still not happy with the spacing (and it should have been dinged really).
Need to get a backplate, make cape a shoulder cape, add grenades (Using Dar Kyram's as an example), and a possible breaching device if the holo/data gaunt does not meet the requirements.
I also have a DH-17 coming and will be modded into the Jaster pistol. Thanks to Peregrinus for that.

Kinda gave up on fixing the knees. I'll slowly work on them, but I did order a set of GM knees from RKD. Great guy, easy to do business with. I recomend him.

Rejected. I need to fix spacing issues, my chin was showing, and so was the boot tongue.
So, going to post lots of pics on Saturday, as I try and get the spacing 110% and will need your help on that.
Bought a balaclava to hide my chin.
Going shoe shipping to find a better boot.
If I am forgetting something I will post the changes I need to make Saturday as a checklist.

I am still not happy with the spacing (and it should have been dinged really).
Need to get a backplate, make cape a shoulder cape, add grenades (Using Dar Kyram's as an example), and a possible breaching device if the holo/data gaunt does not meet the requirements.
I also have a DH-17 coming and will be modded into the Jaster pistol. Thanks to Peregrinus for that.

Kinda gave up on fixing the knees. I'll slowly work on them, but I did order a set of GM knees from RKD. Great guy, easy to do business with. I recomend him.
Advert over I also got some more pics from the con I did, back in May.
Borrowed a clones blaster.
